Smt. Lalitha Ramamoorthy, is uniquely talented in both South Indian Classical vocal music & Bharathanatyam. Under her primary guru, Shri. Ramaswamy Bagavathar, Mumbai, India, Lalitha gave her debut dance performance at the age of 12. She continued to master the art form for several years through Smt. Amudha Dhandapani, Smt. Devika Raghavan and Smt. Sreekala Bharat. Currently she experiences a great fulfillment and bliss in learning under her guru and mentor Smt. Sudha Chandrashekar, Director & Founder of Hindu Temple Rhythms, MI.

With over 20 years in these classical art forms, she has been training more than 50 students for over 14 years. As the director of “School of World Music & Dance”, Lalitha is highly committed in her mission of promoting Indian arts. With a Masters in Nutrition & Food Science she provides an integration of healthy living with dance & music. Lalitha has given several performances in Bahrain, India, Germany and in the United States, both in Carnatic music and Bharathanatyam. During Margazhi festival in December 2012-January 2013, Lalitha performed during the music season in Chennai and Coimbatore, where she presented Carnatic concerts.

In the last few years, Lalitha has choreographed many dance shows under the School of World Music & Dance for various community events, cultural programs and professional shows in and around Detroit. Past couple years, her productions have gone international with shows in Dubai and the UAE.
