Anjali Chadha

Anjali Chadha has been learning dance since the age of 3. She started learning Ballet and Jazz and was initiated into Bharatanatyam at age 4 and a half. She has had the great privilege of learning dance from not one, but 2 gurus. Smt. Akila Iyer introduced her to the art form and nurtured her talent for a number of years. Guru Dr. Vasundhara took Anjali under her tutelage to impart rigorous training and perfect and finesse her technique leading up to her Arangetram.

Anjali has been steadfastly committed to Bharatanatyam and she has blossomed as a dancer and a person under the watchful eyes of her Guru. She has spent innumerable hours in training and practice of this art-form, which is not merely a dance form to her, but has now become a very part of her identity. Anjali has had the good fortune to perform in several group and solo dances in various venues in Louisville, Mysore and Mangalore, India. Most noteworthy are her performances in honor of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s visit to Louisville, and at the commemoration of 25 years of Dr. Vasundhara’s VPA center in Jaganmohana Palace Auditorium, Mysore.

Anjali is well-rounded in various other disciplines and has won several awards in Quiz Competitions, Science Olympiads, Science Fairs and other academic competitions. She also plays the piano, learns Taekwondo and is an avid reader. Anjali hopes to continue dancing throughout her life and improve her skills, while seeking to reach greater heights.
