Samyuktha, the eldest daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Keerthi and Poorna Kemparajurs is a gifted young danseuse born in Louisville, Kentucky. She was initiated into the divine art form of Bharatanatya when she was three by her first guru Mrs. Rekha Balaji and blossomed under her guidance for eight years. She continued her journey under the tutelage of Mrs. Monica Cooley in Nashville, Tennesee.
In 1998, Samyuktha was fortunate to meet Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy, the leading exponent and torch-bearer of the Pandanullur style of Bharatanatyam in Karnataka. Recognizing Samyuktha’s talent and potential, she graciously agreed to accept her as one of her students at the Vasundhara’s performing Arts Center in Mysore, India, and enabled her to pursue her interests in becoming an accomplished dancer. Under able auspices, Samyuktha has evolved into a versatile and disciplined artist.
In December 2005, at the renowned Jaganmohan Palace auditorium, Mysore, India, her performance was well received with accolades and reviews in the local newspapers by various dance critics. In 2007, Samyuktha was Dr. Doraswamy’s first student to perform Rangapravesham in Louisville, Kentucky.
Samyuktha is currently in her third year of medical school and continues to learn from her guru and gives performances as often as she is able to with her rigorous academic schedule.
